Hello and welcome back to my blog!
It has been a while since I have written a blog post, and that is all thanks to the crazy, busy and wonderful summer/wedding season I have had this year! Things have now started to slow down and I cannot wait to share this season’s work with you all.
The Wedding Season here in the Algarve tends to boom from anywhere between April and October! This is always an exciting time for wedding suppliers here and obviously for the anxious couples all around the world waiting for their special day in Portugal to arrive. Most of the weddings I photograph are “weddings abroad” – meaning that Portugal is not the couples home country. Their guests fly in from all over and the love and emotions you see and feel and in my case, capture on camera, are just overwhelming.
Every wedding has its own touch, its own style and its own traditions – making the photography for each wedding story different every time 🙂 Some couples love being in front of the camera and want as many pictures of themselves as possible, others are more camera shy and prefer to have more of a documentary type recording of their day. Others love both! Either way, this year I have had 100% positive feedback and that makes me SO happy. Keep an eye out for my new testimonials from this year here.
Everyone that lives here on a regular basis has noticed how the weather was a bit weird this year – we had very warm weather in March and most of April (yes I got a bit of a tan that early on this year!) but come May and June our sunny Algarve wasn’t as hot and sunny as usual. There was a Plan B used at one of my weddings, but the weather never seems to disappoint here and it certainly didn’t let any of my couples down. Once July came the heat arrived with it, this is normally when you find the grooms in their warm but smart suits looking for the shady spots (something to keep in mind when you are booking your venue/wedding date). We have had very hot weather up until very recently – the first signs of rain showed only a couple of days ago, and as I am here writing this – the sun is out and shining again and my washing is back on track to getting dry!!!
Enough about the weather for your wedding day, lets get down to having a look at some of my favourite pics from this wedding season! I will be writing another blog about my family photography this summer aswell. All the details you will need for booking your family photoshoot and why having your shoot from October onwards isn’t such a bad idea!

You may have also noticed the drone shot in there – I HAVE A DRONE! YAY! I just love the different angles you can shoot with a drone, I find it fascinating to see the wedding venues, surroundings, my couples and their guests from high above! I will be writing another post about the drone and showing you some more photos taken with it. It was such a great addition to my equipment this season and my couples absolutely loved the outcome!
